How to Make Seasoned Toasted Bread and Rolls that are incredibly easy and get rave reviews. Please don’t make boring garlic toast anymore.
Cooking Time
8 minutes
Preparation Time
3 minutes
Servings
1-2 slices per person
Equipment
4-8 ounce container with a lid
A spoon or basting brush
Ingredients
- 2 slices or a a couple of rolls (Bread- use sliced French or Italian bread, Sourdough, English Muffins, or Ciabatta Bread/Rolls. You can choose any bread, but try to choose something that isn’t sandwich slices. If all you have are sandwich slices, use them, but then you’ll see why you’ll want to go with a tastier bread.)
- 3 Tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 teaspoon each: garlic powder, black pepper, and a dried green herb such as Italian Seasoning, Thyme, Rosemary, or Basil
- Parmesan cheese- optional
You can double or triple this recipe of course! Be sure to keep the mix in a cool area and use within a week or so. If you do put it into the refrigerator, expect it to get cloudy, but it will be just fine. Try not to keep it too close to the stove or toaster oven, because oil doesn’t keep well when it is kept in an area that is too warm.
- OR- even easier and tastier: Use Beggs Bold Blends as the seasoning- Poultry & Pork, Greek, and Southwest Seasoning are all amazing on artisan breads!
- Drizzle olive oil on bread and sprinkle the Beggs Bold Blends Seasoning of your choice and then toast until the top is just golden brown!
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 Degrees F
- Mix olive oil, garlic powder, pepper, and herbs in the container with the lid.
- Lay bread on a baking sheet
- Brush each slice of bread with the mixture, making sure that you’re getting a good mix of seasonings each time you apply the mix to the bread. If you don’t have a baster brush, use a spoon to dip about a teaspoon of oil, and drizzle it on the bread. Use the back of the spoon to smear it around.
- Add just a little- like a teaspoon of parmesan to the top
- Place bread in the oven and bake until golden brown.
