Basic Stir-fry Sauce

Makes 4 cups

Equipment

  • 1-2 Qt. saucepan- no lid needed
  • cooking spoon

Ingredients

  • 3 cups water
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce mixed with 5 T cornstarch
  • ½ cup chicken stock
  • 1/3 cup rice wine or rice wine vinegar
  • 2 T sesame oil (if you have toasted sesame oil- even better!)
  • 1 T minced garlic or granulated garlic
  • 2 tsp minced ginger root or powdered ginger
  • 1T onion powder

Directions

  1. Add all ingredients to sauce pan.
  2. Stirring constantly, heat until bubbly and beginning to thicken.
